Surfing Lessons...give it a go!

While you are here exploring the gorgeous Gold Coast beaches, why not take a surfing lesson with a qualified instructor! surfing is a fun way to squeeze in some fitness during your holiday, and is definitely great for kids too.

We joined in on a Sunday surf lesson session at Greenmount this week! With smaller waves on this particular day, it was perfect for beginners, and there were lots of kids catching some waves too!

For those who are concerned about being thrown in the deep end straight away, you need not worry! Upon arrival at the beach, you will be given a 'learners' board and a surf lesson team shirt to wear during the lesson, to ensure you are highly visible to your instructor. Before you make your way to the waters edge, some dry sand lessons are given, so you can start to get your balance on the board...

give it a go.... you might get addicted like the other surfies on the coast!

Enjoying the Gold Coasts' Southern Beaches- Rainbow Bay & Greenmount!

It can take a little longer to reach these beautiful beaches from the main tourist areas of the Gold Coast, but it's definitely worth the drive!

Rainbow Bay and Greenmount are both yellow sandy surf beaches with surf life savers patrolling the swimming areas, so they are safe for swimming and frolicking the waves! :) The rocky headlands make great waves for those of you who love to surf (or want to try to surf on your vacation!)

You can take a walk up to the top of Greenmount headland easily to see the fantastic view of surfers down below catching their waves, and on the horizon you will see the tall hotels of Surfers Paradise!

Several month's ago we were looking out at the water from Greenmount headland and were lucky enough to see some Humpback whales splashing around!

Rainbow Bay is a quiet little sandy beach with holiday apartments along the main esplanade, perfect for a summer holiday! with Coolangatta shops, cafe's restaurants, pubs a 10 minute walk away, it's definitely the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation! You won't even need to rent a car, as Gold Coast Airport is a 10 minute drive away... enjoy the pictures..

The Gold Coast is a popular tourist destination and is approximately one hour south of Brisbane City by car. The Gold Coast itself is spread along the coastline and is made up of many beautiful beaches with approximately 21 patrolled by our world famous surf life savers.
Tourists love to come to the Gold Coast to stay in the lovely hotels along the golden sandy beaches for year round fun in the sun.

Welcome to my little snapshot of the beautiful Gold Coast, in sunny Queensland, Australia.
Queensland boasts an amazing 300 days of sunshine every year and a very diverse environment, from beautiful lush rainforrests with waterfalls to sandy beaches and islands scattered along the almost 7,000 kilometer coastline.
